Laptop Repair - Power Problem

Laptop Power Problem Repair : If your laptop does not appear to be getting power, or it just doesn't turn on we may be able to repair it. One of the most common causes of power problems is the power jack. The AC Adapter may plug into the back of the laptop, but the power jack is broken, and the laptop isn't getting power. Seattle Laptop repairs laptops with broken power jacks on a daily basis. Quite often we will find that a laptop's system board has a broken power jack, but when the power jack is replaced, the laptop still won't turn on. When the power jack broke, it shorted out the system board, and either burned up the traces, or shorted out and damaged other components. Most of the time we can locate these problems, and repair them at no extra charge.

Your laptop may be getting power from the adapter, and the battery charge light may come on, but when you try to turn the laptop on, nothing happens. This can be caused by a number of problems, from a bad power button, to a loose cable, or connector, or possibly a bad system board. Certain models are known to have screws that come loose inside the laptop, and short out the system boards also. One of these laptops is the HP DV1000. We have found over a dozen of these machines that had a screw that had come loose shorting out the system board. When it was removed, the laptop worked flawlessly. If you have a laptop that won't turn on, Seattle Laptop would need to disassemble it to find out what is causing the power problem. Most of the time we will be able to fix a laptop that appears to be completely dead.
